Fredrick Hicks, M.S., CEPPA

Mr. Hicks is the founder and CEO of HEG. He brings a wealth of experience across a spectrum of fields. His recent projects include:
• Coordinating the implementation of the NIATx process improvement models in substance abuse clinics across Florida (2007);
• Facilitating a state level interagency workgroup on implementing evidence based practices in substance abuse and mental health (2007);
• Implementing a nationwide data collection system for disaster survivors (2006);
• Coordinating the Florida Department of Children and Families’ Crisis Counseling Cadre (2006);
• Serving on a team of grant writers (2005);
• Leading start up of statewide crisis counseling program for Hurricane Wilma survivors (2005);
• Managing the closure of multiple FEMA funded crisis counseling programs throughout the State (2005);
• Serving as an Adjunct Professor in the College of Education at Florida A&M University (2005-present); and
• Proudly coaching his YMCA basketball team to an undefeated season (2007).  

Omar Nagi, Ph.D., (Statistical Analysis, Organizational Behavior, Performance Improvement, Survey Design)

Dr. Nagi is an economist by training and professor of Sociology by profession. He is the core methodologist and survey designer for HEG projects. He is a member of several professional organizations and recently served as an advisor to Mount St. Vincent College’s first Watson Fellow.
 
Melissa R. Murray, M.S, (Public Health, Evaluation, Technical Assistance)
 
Melissa serves as the lead for HEG public health projects. A leader in the Florida Department of Health, Ms. Murray brings a wealth of experience in data analysis, survey design and implementation, and technical assistance. Her recent projects include:
• Coordinating the BRFSS Survey (2006-present);
• Coordinating the YRBS Survey (2003-2005); and
• Serving as a volunteer to Florida’s hurricane relief effort.
 
Christopher Morrett, Ph.D. (Demography and Statistical Analysis) Professor, Fordham University
  
Dr. Morrett is a noted demographer and statistician. His ongoing research on family dynamics has earned him an exceptional reputation. Chris has volunteered and served in leadership on several local and national campaigns. He currently serves as a statistician for HEG and a lead in the campaign management/public relations sector.

Patricia Golay, Ed.D. (Technical Assistance, Higher Education, Cultural Competence, Grants Management)

Dr. Golay brings a wealth of experience in education and training, including serving as a History teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Recent projects include:

• International Service-Learning in Ghana, West Africa;
• Diversity workshops for the Center for Civic Education and Service;
• Diversity workshops for Florida State University’s Center for Leadership and Service Youth programs (Cawthon Hall Teacher Learning Community);
• Coordinating, evaluating, and monitoring the FAMU USAID John Ogonowski Farmer To Farmer Program;
• Coordinating grants management for Florida Learn & Serve; and
• Serving as a member of the NEXUS group, an internal organization focused on internationalizing the Florida State University campus.

 

Dan Sanz, (Campaign Management/Public Relations, Disaster Management)

Mr. Sanz has over 25 years of direct supervisory management experience in commercial, educational and social service settings, serving as a university teacher, organizational structuring, employee communication and training, public speaking, writing, business and community resource development, group and individual counseling, team building and motivation. Mr. Sanz has the following accomplishments:
• Founding and serving as CEO of his own marketing/television production corporation;
• Producing documentaries and written/directed over 3000 television and radio commercials;
• Serving as an elected official;
• Serving on several city level budget commissions;
• Navigating much of the Atlantic Ocean near the Caribbean.

 
Kathleen Quinn, (Database Design/Technical Assistance, Adult Education)

Ms. Quinn, a Microsoft certified instructor, has been teaching Microsoft Applications for over 10 years. Kathleen is currently focusing on database design geared to improve business productivity, in addition to providing technical assistance when needed. You may catch her running in preparation for the annual 7 Mile Bridge Run in the Florida Keys.
