Our Story.... HEG, LLC is a minority owned evaluation and technical assistance firm founded in 2006. The firm is comprised of experienced experts in campaign management, cultural competence, data/database management, disaster management, education, evaluation information technology, non-profit management, and public health. Like all businesses, HEG started as a dream. The founder, Fredrick Hicks, felt that many community based organizations, for profit and not for profit, excelled in servicing their communities, but lacked the knowledge to complete the paperwork themselves and did not have the budget to pay for external evaluators. As a result, organizations lost their funding and the communities they served suffered.
Fredrick initially envisioned a company that would provide administrative support to these organizations. His doctoral training in Program Evaluation expanded the vision to include evaluation in his service array. The Hicks Evaluation Group, or HEG, was born. HEG has expanded far beyond the boundaries of administrative support and evaluation. These services, however, remain at the core. HEG’s roots in community support remain the lifeblood of the organization. In an effort to share his vision, Fredrick recruited likeminded individuals. As you will see from those who comprise the teams, each principal of HEG has a record of involvement in and improvement of their communities.
